About Face of the Globe
Face of the Globe is an award winning international natural beauty pageant.
Awards include ‘Pageant of the Year’ and ‘Best Pageant Director’. The Welsh heat for Face of the Globe 2015 is being directed by Ffwrnes theatre Llanelli.
We are looking for a team of girls to represent Wales at the international grand finals in April. The annual international beauty pageant is hosted over one week between the UK and Disneyland Paris. The finals bring together girls from every corner of the globe to spend a week together sharing stories, cultures and friendships.
The Welsh grand final will take place on Sunday August 30th 2015 in the main auditorium of the theatre. With a rehearsal, mini training session and interview day taking place on the 29th for our two older categories Adults and Teens. The 29th of August will take place at the theatre in one of our rehearsal spaces where the girls will learn the opening number dance routine (don’t worry this is a bit of fun and will not be marked by the judges, in fact the judges won’t be seated at their table at this point) and informal interviews with a panel of judges will also take place. Followed by a private screening of ‘Miss Congeniality’ to end the day. This will give all the girls a chance to relax and get to know each other before the live on stage competition the following day, Sunday 30th August 2015.
The competition is open to girls from the age of 5 with no upper age limit.
There are four different age categories: Minis: 5-8yrs. Juniors: 9-13yrs. Teens: 14-17yrs. Adults: 18 + (All ages apply from 1st April 2016.) Girls from across Wales are being invited to enter now for the chance to compete live on stage in August.
During the night of the Welsh finals, 5 finalists will be selected from each age division. The highest scoring girl from each category will win their trip to Disneyland Paris to compete in the Grand Finals, plus all 4 runners up in each category will also be awarded a place, subject to sponsorship. All girls will then form part of team Wales.
Who can Apply?
Despite the name it is not just a pretty face we are looking for; the competition isn’t just based on looks but on your personality, and how well you could represent Wales. As this is a natural pageant, no make-up, fake tan or hair pieces are allowed to be worn by our younger contestants. Unlike many pageants, we have no swimwear round, there are also no height or weight restrictions and Mums and married women are invited to enter! Plus, the whole family and your friends are invited to join in the magic with you in Disneyland Paris!
What to expect?
Once you have submitted your application form, you will then find out if you have been shortlisted for the finals. If you have been shortlisted we will then arrange an interview with you, this could be over the phone, Skype, in person or via Email.
Your place in the Welsh finals will be subject to an entry fee. These fees can be covered by yourself, through fundraising or sponsorship from a business. There is no need to worry about the entry fee, more information on how to raise sponsorship money will be included in the finalist information pack you receive, if your application is successful.
Adults: £100 (including Finalist sash and T-shirt)
Teens: £70 (including Finalist sash and T-shirt)
Mini and Juniors: £40 (includes one ticket for chaperone, Finalist sash and T-shirt)
Once you have been offered a place in the final, you will need to secure your place by paying a deposit or the full amount. More information regarding payments and finding a sponsor will be available in the finalist information pack that will be sent to you once you have been offered a place, along with a lot more information about the Welsh Finals.
You can apply for the Welsh heat if you haven’t done so already through the Face of the Globe
