Ar Lan y Môr

by RHIANNON MAIR

Rhiannon’s grandmother is one of the last residents living on the street, on Pembrokeshire’s seafront. Of the 19 houses there, 15 are holiday homes.

Mam-gu sits by the window in the parlour. The tide is turning. The people disappear. What does the future hold for the street? What does the future hold for west and north Wales coastal areas? What is the impact of holiday homes on local language and culture?
Rhiannon Mair gives voice to some of these issues in a Welsh-language performance. With the help of stones, she will combine multi-layered storytelling through language and body.

The audience is invited to stay for a cuppa and informal chat after the performance.
Ar Lan y Môr is performed in Welsh. It is suitable for Welsh learners at Intermediate level upwards.
