England, 1471. King Henry VI is dead. The War of the Roses is over. After thirty years the bloody struggle between the Houses of Lancaster and York is at an end. England is at peace.
Edward IV and the House of York have the throne. Henry Tudor, Earl of Richmond and heir to the House of Lancaster has fled to France.
But, under the surface of the court, cracks are beginning to form… The Queen’s family, the ambitious Woodevilles, feud with the other nobility. Further troubled times lay ahead. Rumour has it that the King is sick and has had his brother George, Duke of Clarence, arrested for treason. Meanwhile, his other brother Richard, Duke of Gloucester, has schemes of his own.
Now is the winter of our discontent…
