Important Announcement: Cancellation of Unity Festival in Llanelli

Due to the extreme heat, and in line with Public Health and union guidance, Hijinx and Carmarthenshire Theatres have made the difficult decision to cancel this Thursday’s Unity Festival programme in Llanelli, to safeguard the performers, the festival team and audiences.

We are disappointed that this decision was necessary, but the safety of everyone involved is our priority. The festival was due to run for 7 hours from 12.30pm - 7.30pm, which covers the hottest hours of the day, and therefore could have put the performers and audience at risk.

We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your understanding.

You can still catch Unity Festival in Mold on 27 June and in Cardiff from 1 – 5 July.

Hijinx’s Unity Festival returns for its 12th edition! Unity Festival is Wales’ flagship inclusive and disability arts festival. A special programme of free street theatre events will be coming to Ffwrnes on Thursday 25 June as part of the 2026 festival.

Featuring performances from Hijinx, Theatr Iolo, Kitsch & Sync, Taking Flight and tanzbar_bremen; expect an unruly gang of magical gnomes in Coblyn (Hijinx, Theatr Iolo, Kitsch & Sync), full-blown folding chair chaos in The Audience (Hijinx West Academy) and a delightful holiday inspired dance duet from Germany's tanzbar_bremen.

Performances will take place outside the Ffwrnes Theatre Llanelli between 12:30pm - 7.30pm.
