The cat’s out of the bag… Dick Whittington is coming to The Lyric in 2026!

This classic family pantomime will be packed with dazzling costumes, toe-tapping songs, belly-laughs, and more panto mischief than you can shake a spotted handkerchief at!

When Dick realises he is penniless, he sets out on a journey to London, where the streets are reportedly paved with gold. And, of course, his trusty cat joins him for this paw-some adventure.

Expect fairytale fun, enchanting sets, and a show-stopping cast that will have you cheering, booing, and singing along from start to finish.

What is a BSL-interpreted performance? At British Sign Language (BSL) performances, trained signers interpret the script and language used by the performers as it is performed. The BSL interpretation for this show will be provided by Tony Evans standing to the left of the stage when viewed from the audience.  

Relaxed Performances
Wednesday 16th December 6pm 
Friday 18th December 10am 

What is a relaxed performance? Relaxed performances are open to anyone to attend, and are specially designed for children, young people, or adults who may have disabilities, additional support needs and those on the autistic spectrum. No pyrotechnics or strobe lighting, lower sound levels, house lights dimmed, not off. The audience are free to come and go from the auditorium if they wish.

Captioned performances
Friday 18th – 10 am (during the relaxed)
Tuesday 22nd – 2pm (during the BSL)

During these performances the actors’ words appear on a screen next to the stage or in the set at the same time they are being spoken or sung. The captions also provide additional information that is helpful to deaf and hard of hearing and neuro diverse audiences, such as indicating speaker names, sound effects and offstage noises
