Grip of Life
By Noni Lewis
What is it to be a woman in mid-life?
If anyone has worked this out, could they please tell Eleanor and Sophie so that they can get out of this creepy little room?
Join the most famous Welsh actress you’ve probably never heard of, and the least famous Welsh actress working today as they try to figure it out with almost 100 years of history to separate them.
Noni Lewis' new play is inspired by the life of little known Welsh stage and film actress Eleanor Daniels, raised in Llanelli. Despite being from different times, Eleanor and Sophie share touching, humorous stories of imposter syndrome, the fear and apathy of mid-life, the emotional realities of the perimenopause, the impact of grief, guilt, reincarnation and the ‘why’ of life.
Supported by the Arts Council of Wales and Theatrau Sîr Gar. A co-production with The Riverfront Theatre, Newport.
Contains references to death and grief.
1:30pm performance: With BSL interpretation by Julie Doyle.
