Noson yng Nghwmni Sue Roderick

A show that will look back over the life and career of the actress from Porthmadog.

She has been singing since she was a young girl and performed with Treflyn Jones in the duo 'Treflyn a Siwsan'. She performed on Disc a Dawn (BBC Wales) when she was ten years old. At the age of 14 she went for an audition with Cwmni Theatr Cymru.

She was too young to start working but she was offered singing lessons with Betty Roberts, the wife of the company's director, Wilbert. After finishing school she went back to work with Cwmni Theatr Cymru. In 1987 she performed on the program Codi Pais (HTV) - an entertainment programme including sketches and songs. The program broke new ground for women in comedy by combining the talents of Sue, Siw Hughes, Gillian Elisa and Eirlys Parri.

She was one of the main actors in the film Hedd Wyn, going to the Oscars and meeting a number of big Hollywood stars. She appeared in Twin Town playing Lucy Cartwright. In the 1990s she appeared in the TV series Minafon, Y Pavlant Aur, Yr Heliwr before joining the cast of Pobol y Cwm to play Cassie Morris, who owned the Deri Arms with her husband Teg. After leaving the soap opera in 2003, she rejoined Pobol y Cwm at the end of 2018 with a story about scattering Mrs Mac's ashes.

The Deri wasn't the only imaginary pub Sue worked in as she played Megan Morgan - a barmaid in the Rovers Return (Coronation Street) with Alec Gilroy and Bet Lynch.

During the first half of the evening, Ieuan Rhys will ask Sue about her life and career, with audience questions in the second half. Who knows, maybe we'll get a few songs from Sue before the end of the night?

An enjoyable evening with one of Wales’s busiest actors – this will certainly be a night to remember.
