Emlyn William’s comedy, The Late Christopher Bean
On his uppers, artist Christopher Bean is taken in by a respectable family and is late in more ways than one! After his death, his talent is discovered late by the world of art and he is seen to be a highly regarded artist with paintings worth thousands. Emlyn Williams’s classic play is a comedy of manners (often bad manners), joyfully painting a picture of romance, greed and pretension in the brightest and broadest of brush strokes.
Adapted from a French play by Rene Fauchois, The Late Christopher Bean is a feisty comedy with moral insights that remain hilariously pertinent today.
Join us for an evening full of laughter, twists and hilarious home truths, right up until the last brush stroke at final curtain.
